Jay Werner joined the staff team at New Hope in March of 2018. Before this he completed his Masters in Applied Theology at Regent in British Columbia. Before that he received tons of amazing training in YWAM’s University of the Nations – a school that trains and sends missionaries worldwide. Following this training he served in YWAM for 7 years in various ministries such as, discipleship training schools, the school of biblical studies, and in several missional initiatives. He currently oversees our Discipleship ministries, which includes New Hope's LifeGroups, Caring Fund and Pastoral Care Team.

His passion for ministry stems from his own experience of being forgiven, healed and loved by God. In his spare time you will likely find him either playing a sport of some kind or relaxing with a good book or film.

Jay and his wife Phoebe began their journey together in Taiwan where they served together in missions. They have three wonderful children and feel blessed to call New Hope their church family.
